The Origins of the South Korean Film Renaissance is an international film studies conference scheduled for November 2-4, 2023, in Hong Kong. The three-day academic conference is a collaborative effort between the Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) at Lingnan University and the Department of Asian Languages and Literature at the University of Washington (UW). This event is also being organized in partnership with M+ Cinema and the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong. The conference is supported by the Academy of Korean Studies, UW’s Center for Korea Studies and East Asia Center, and Lingnan University’s Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer (ORKT) and Center for Film and Creative Industries (CFCI).
