On-Line Translation Database for Korean Literature

On March 6, 2025 Professor Heekyoung Cho delivered a talk at the Tateuchi East Asia Library (TEAL) on the purpose and status of a new database in developed since 2022. This online searchable database is the most extensive database to date of English translations of Korean literature.

The database is a project that has been supported by TEAL, the Simpson Center for the Humanities, and theUW Center for Korea Studies and is on schedule to be made available to the public this spring.

Next in the series this year is a presentation by Professor Paul Atkins & PhD Students (Japan – Asian Languages & Literature) Monday, April 14, 2025, 3:30–5:00 PM on ‘Statistics, Machine Learning, and Japanese Orthography’.

The Tateuchi East Asia Library 2025 TEAL Digital Scholarship Series, is a dynamic program showcasing cutting-edge research by faculty in the fields of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese (CJKT) studies.
