Daniel Hance, JSIS Japan MA student 2021


Prior to entering the JSIS Japan Studies 2021 MA cohort, Daniel completed his BA in Supply Chain Management at Auburn University. Daniel’s research interests include Japan’s international relations specifically the US-Japan relationship and how this affects the East Asian region.

A reservist in the United States Marine Corps, Daniel is also the Communications Assistant for the UW Taiwan Studies Program. For personal interests, he is a martial arts enthusiast and is currently practicing jiu jitsu. Daniel is a recipient of the 2021-2022 FLAS Fellowship and the Kristen Kawakami Dean Fellowship 2022-23. Daniel has been invited to complete an internship with Nintendo in the summer of 2023.
