In anticipation of travel to Japan again being available, applications are now open for a UW Study Abroad program in Matsuyama, Japan, over spring break 2023. The program will focus on “glocal” culture—how the local and the global, including food, culture, and commerce—connect the United States, including the Puget Sound region, with Japan, including Ehime Prefecture, about 500 miles southeast of Tokyo.
No Japanese language skills are required (but certainly could be helpful!). The program is affiliated with the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at UW Bothell but is open to UW students from all three campuses. Financial aid is available to eligible students. Application deadline: November 1, 2022.
