The East Asia Library are pleased to announce that they have recently added two new databases to their collection; Web Oya-bunko and The Japan Times Archives.
Web Oya-bunko primarily holds popular magazines from the Meiji Era and onwards, and the titles of all the magazines included in this database can be found here.
The Japan Times meanwhile, is Japan’s largest english language newspaper. The East Asia Library now has access to digitized issues of The Japan Times, as well as The Japan Advertiser, The Japan Times & Mail, The Japan Times and Advertiser, and The Nippon Times. The database includes issues from as far back as March 22, 1897 and access to this database can be found here.
These databases are the newest additions to an already extensive Japanese collection at the East Asia Library. The collection includes over 162,000 individual volumes, as well as access to hundreds of databases that give students access to films, newspapers, maps and articles written in both Japanese and English. A full list of all the databases available in the Japanese collection can be found on the East Asia Library’s website here.
