JAN 22 – NEW LOCATION ‘Ghosts in the Neighborhood’ with Walter Hatch, Professor Emeritus, Colby College

January 3, 2024

Join us for this special book talk with UW Japan Studies Program affiliate faculty Walter Hatch as he takes us through ‘Ghosts in the Neighborhood: Why Japan is Haunted by its Past and Germany is Not’. The most common explanation for this difference is that Germany knows better how to apologize; Japan is viewed as “impenitent.” But is this really the case?
