Remembering Río Lempa: FOIA Documents Released to Mark 35th Anniversary of Massacre

March 17, 2016, marks the 35th anniversary of the Río Lempa massacre – one of countless mass killings during the Salvadoran armed conflict that has yet to be fully investigated. In remembrance of its victims and solidarity with its survivors, and with the intention of contributing to the consolidation of historical memory about crimes against humanity committed during the Salvadoran armed conflict, the UW Center for Human Rights released a set of six newly-declassified US government documents that shed light on this massacre.
