Stefanie Frease spent nearly 20 years working on international criminal investigations aimed at bringing to justice perpetrators of mass atrocities. In particular, she focused on the former Yugoslav conflicts of the 1990s, East Timor in early 2000s, Darfur, Sudan from 2004, and other regions of large-scale violence. She has acted as Special Advisor to the Prosecutor for the UN’s International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia, initiated the Darfur investigation for the International Criminal Court, consulted on a variety of issues internationally and after spending two years in South Sudan working towards independence, she moved home to Seattle. Ms. Frease is currently an investigator for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
