Patricia Ortiz

Patricia Ortiz, Puyallup Tribal Citizen is a student at UWT in the Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies Program.  Her research centers Coast Salish communities’ lived experiences, decolonizing social studies curriculum while honoring the Legacy of her Ancestors. Patricia’s experiences at The Puyallup Tribes Chief Leschi Schools supports the project by ensuring accurate representations of Tribal Youth lived experiences are at the forefront of digital storytelling. In her spare time Patricia enjoys attending cultural events including Canoe Journey, Coastal Jams, Ceremonies, Pow Wows, Reading History and Ethnobotany Books.
