Judy Howard



Judy Howard is Professor of Sociology and at the University of Washington. Judy has been an adjunct faculty member in Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies (previously known as Women Studies) since 1982 and was Chair of Women Studies from 2001 to 2005. Her Ph.D. is from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, 1982. Judy is a member emeritus of the UWCHR’s Steering Committee (Ex Officio).

Judy has been recognized with the Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award, UW, in 2001. She was the editor of SIGNS: Journal of Women in Culture and Society from 1995-2000, and President of the Pacific Sociological Association from 2001-2002.
