Jade Dudoward is a member of the Tsimshian Band from Lax Kw’alaams British Columbia Canada. Currently, he is a senior at the University of Washington double majoring in American Indian Studies (AIS) and Environmental Science & Terrestrial Resource Management (ESRM). Although he has lived here in Washington for most of his life, he returned to his homeland in British Columbia every summer to connect with his family and heritage. While in Canada, he would participate in traditional fishing, hunting, and forging. In doing so, he fell in love with the beauty of nature and the amazing feeling of being outdoors. Jade is passionate about fostering the same loving connections he has with nature by engaging Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in the outdoors. In doing so, Jade hopes to simultaneously promote health for people and the environment.
