Eden Iyall

About
Eden Iyall is a fourth-year undergraduate at the University of Washington, majoring in sociology. She is Nez Perce and Cherokee, and an enrolled member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe. She joined the University of Washington Center for Human Rights in spring 2026 through the Puyallup Family Data Reclamation Project. Led by Dr. Rocha Beardall in collaboration with the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, she supports the recovery and digitization of archival records related to the federal Indian boarding school system. She also contributes to the Media Coverage of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls research project by helping build a national inventory of Tribal news outlets and archives, including publication and metadata access pathways. Outside of school and research, Eden enjoys fishing, sewing, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
