Andre Stephens

Andre Stephens is a Ph.D. student in Sociology at the University of Washington. His research focuses on state formation and political violence in his native Jamaica. Andre is also an affiliate of UW’s Law, Societies and Justice program. Since 2014, he has been a research assistant with the Center for Human Rights’ Unfinished Sentences project. Beginning in summer 2016, Andre will be working on a data archaeology project where he will delve into a database of human rights violations during El Salvador’s civil war. Andre enjoys racquetball and travel. Given the chance, he also makes a mean cheesecake.
