Winter 2021 course: ARCTIC 302 – Advanced Inuktitut
The Canadian Studies Center is privileged to have two exceptional teachers of Inuktitut: Mick Mallon, expert linguist and foremost scholar of Inuktitut, and his wife, Alexina Kublu, a native Inuktitut speaker, teacher, and government official. In Winter Quarter 2021, Ms. Kublu offered ARCTIC 302: Advanced Inuktitut.
Inuktitut is an Indigenous language in North America spoken in the Canadian Arctic. It is part of a larger Inuit language continuum stretching from Alaska to Greenland, and is a polysynthetic language, which means that words tend to be longer and structurally more complex than their English or French counterparts.
