I am an undergraduate student majoring in international studies with a focus on human rights as well as triple-minoring in Spanish, Portuguese, and Modern Greek. With the support of the FLAS Fellowship I was able to intensively study Portuguese at the Middlebury Language Schools. As I plan on going into the field of human rights advocacy within Latin America, this base of fluency in both Spanish and Portuguese will be an invaluable resource. I am very grateful for FLAS Fellowship as it has allowed me to vastly improve my Portuguese language abilities and connect more deeply with Brazilian culture.
