I am a graduate student in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice- Midwifery track. I am so grateful to have received a FLAS to continue my study of the Arabic language. As a nurse-midwife, I hope to devote my career to improving outcomes for mother-child dyads, especially in times of crisis and upheaval. I wish to acquire skills in a doctoral program that prepare me as a leader for clinical practice and systemic change. I want to develop skills in studying Arabic and the Arab world to integrate these skills into justice for women living as refugees from the Middle East and their children.
