My research interests lie in the intersection of politics and language in Russia. This interest was inspired by the time I spent living in the country, as well as my extensive academic background in studying Russian history and culture. A strong understanding of the language is necessary in order to pursue this line of research, and the Global Studies FLAS gives me the support I need in order to continue my Russian studies at the University of Washington.
