JSIS 498C:
Conflicts, Migration, and Refugees in Africa

— With Francis Abugbilla

This course explores the root causes of political violence and climate change-induced conflicts and the resulting effects on populations such as internally displaced persons, migrants, asylees, and refugees in Sub-Saharan Africa. Students will work on an applied research/capstone project with a local or an international organization and write a policy report as a deliverable. The goal is to allow students to apply what they learn in class in a real-world setting.
