Daniel Rechtschaffen is a government relations manager at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, where he is responsible for building and maintaining relations with the U.S. government, managing his section’s policy and advocacy papers, and overseeing the Chamber’s Government Policy Support (GPS) program. He is one of the founding editors of Sixth Tone, a Shanghai-based news agency, and has interned at the U.S. Senate and the National Bureau of Asian Research. He graduated from the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies with an MA in China Studies in 2018 and is a contributor to Forbes Asia.
