Welcome Lucy Li as China Collection Librarian

Lucy Li

October 15, 2025

We are joining the Tateuchi East Asia Library (TEAL) in welcoming Lucy Li as the new China collection librarian. Over the past two years, Lucy has served in this role in an interim capacity, demonstrating exceptional dedication, professionalism, and deep understanding of the research and teaching needs of our China and Taiwan Studies communities. Her strong academic background, familiarity with the UW community, and proven ability to support scholars have made her the ideal choice for this position.

The China Studies Librarian serves to build the Chinese collection at the University of Washington Libraries. The librarian also instructs on information literacy, provides reference services, and carries out community outreach activities related to the teaching, learning and research of the Chinese language, and regional studies on China, Taiwan and beyond. Lucy received her M.A. in International Studies – China Studies for the UW Jackson School of International Studies and MLIS from the UW Information School in 2023.

See TEAL website for more information on Li's research and current projects.
