U.S. – China Tourism Leadership Summit
Brand USA and Visit Seattle are pleased to join the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China in hosting the 2019 U.S. – China Tourism Leadership Summit. This Summit is the marquee opportunity each year to build and strengthen relationships between the U.S. and Chinese travel industries.
The 2019 U.S – China Tourism Leadership Summit will be hosted in Seattle, Washington September 17-22, 2019. This year’s gathering comes at a moment in which it has never been more important to reaffirm the importance of travel and tourism to the world’s two largest economies and their people.
Visit Seattle is responsible for coordinating all logistical elements of the Summit and we expect 75 VIP attendees from China and another 125 VIP attendees from across the U.S. Mandarin-speaking volunteer opportunities are now available. These roles will provide unparalleled access to some of the most influential travel industry leaders from both the U.S. and China. Specific information is below:
Wednesday, September 18
Chinese Delegation Greeter
Location: Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
Timing: 7:30am to 12:30pm
Details: Chinese delegates will arrive at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Most all delegates
are expected via non-stop flights from Beijing or Shanghai. Volunteers will provide directional
support and assist in welcoming delegates to Seattle. Valid license and/or passport may be
required if volunteering in secure areas of the airport. Business casual attire required.
Opening Event Volunteer
Location: Hyatt Regency Seattle // Tillicum Village
Timing: 5:00pm to 10:00pm
Details: Volunteers will meet at Hyatt Regency Seattle, assist in guiding Summit attendees onto motor coaches and then provide directional support as Summit attendees board Argosy’s Salish Explorer. Similar directional support will be provided upon arrival at Tillicum Village. Volunteers will then dine with Summit attendees, providing translation and interpretation support throughout the dinner event. Business casual attire required.
Thursday, September 19
Closing Event Volunteer
Location: Hyatt Regency Seattle // Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass
Timing: 5:00pm to 10:00pm
Details: Volunteers will meet at Hyatt Regency Seattle, assist in guiding Summit attendees onto
motor coaches and then provide directional support during the first portion of the Closing
Event. Volunteers will then dine with Summit attendees, providing translation and
interpretation support throughout the dinner event. Business attire required.
