Hanyu Colloquia

January 9, 2017

The Hanyu Colloquia is a series of academic talks that will take place from the beginning of January until the end of March 2017. China studies-related social science research will be presented with questions and discussion to follow in Mandarin Chinese. The series is supported through an award from the U.S. State Department’s Critical Language Scholarship.
The intention of the talks is three-fold: One, to provide an opportunity for native English speakers to practice and enhance advanced-level, academic Chinese in a welcoming and positive environment. Two, to provide opportunities for current PhD students to share their research with the greater UW community. Three, to bring American and Chinese students and scholars together to discuss China-studies related topics through the medium of Mandarin Chinese.
All talks will take place at the Jackson School in Thomson 317 and light refreshments will be provided.
