James Lin, assistant professor of international studies and an expert on Taiwan, was quoted by Al Jazeera on Taiwan’s push to return to the UN 50 years later. In “Taiwan taps on United Nations’ door, 50 years after departure,” James gives historical context to Taiwan’s push and challenges for reclaiming its membership seat at the UN.
James also received “Special Thanks” in the credits for providing background information for an episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver that featured a 22-minute segment on Taiwan. It aired on Oct. 24, 2021.
