The FIUTS Pen Pal program (sponsored by the Center for Global Studies) connected 95 University of Washington students from around the world with 156 local elementary school students from Martha Lake Elementary and Beacon Hill International School. After exchanging letters this past quarter, Pen Pals met and got to know one another face to face in December at the UW Seattle campus. The letters gave local students an opportunity to learn about other parts of the world while international students gained insight into life growing up in the greater Seattle area.
