Guided tours of “Beautiful Island” Exhibit

February 23 and February 28, 2018

6:30-7:10PM

Allen Library Lobby

Professor James Lin (UW)

A great island off the coast of China, Taiwan has had an eventful history: as a Dutch entrepôt, a Chinese frontier, a Japanese colony, and as a Cold War redoubt for the Chinese Nationalist Party.  Today, Taiwan is a prosperous democracy with a thriving civil society.  How did it come about?  This exhibit tells the epic story.

Professor James Lin will offer guided tours of the Beautiful Taiwan: Taiwan Journey’s to Democracy exhibit being hosted by the University of Washington libraries.  Please join us for a 30 minute guided tour, followed by a 10 minute Q&A session.  There will be two tour opportunities on February 23 and February 28.
