We are looking for a part-time Program Coordinator<\/a> (20 hours per week) to join the South Asia Studies and Southeast Asia Studies academic programs and National Resource Centers at the Henry M. PROGRAM COORDINATOR<\/strong><\/h3>\n

JSIS has an outstanding opportunity for a 50% FTE position Program Coordinator<\/b>. The Program Coordinator provides support for the South Asia Studies (SAS) academic program and National Resource Center, and the Southeast Asia Studies (SEAS) academic program and National Resource Center of JSIS. This position is the primary point of contact for SAS\/SEAS faculty and visitors. The Program Coordinator reports to the Associate Directors of SAS and SEAS.<\/p>\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2022 Create and\/or edit visually appealing electronic and print promotional material, publications, articles (brochures, newsletters, posters, online newsletters), and publicity for events, courses, and other program activities.
\n\u2022 Assist with promotion and publicity of events and activities, working independently to achieve SAS\/SEAS goals.
\n\u2022 Assist in planning and arranging colloquia\/lectures, outreach events, and other special events. This includes responsibility for all logistical\/administrative aspects of events (room reservations, catering reservations, room set up\/clean up, attendee travel arrangements, etc.).
\n\u2022 Coordinate and submit travel reimbursements and honoraria requests for invited visitors to JSIS Business Office.
\n\u2022 Participate in meetings and\/or conferences as the SAS\/SEAS representative.
\n\u2022 Maintain and update websites.
\n\u2022 Develop and maintain databases using Access or Excel.
\n\u2022 Supervise and train student assistants.
\n\u2022 Maintain email lists (faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and community) and lists of faculty contact information.
\n\u2022 Provide support for program fellowship, faculty search committees, and other committees as needed.
\n\u2022 Develop and coordinate programs that achieve SAS\/SEAS objectives (i.e. professional fellows’ program, postdoctoral fellows’ program, alumni network).\u00a0 Update yearly teaching plan information for faculty.
\n\u2022 Obtain quarterly course descriptions from program faculty; update quarterly course description booklets.
\n\u2022 Provide relevant degree, course, and certificate information to current and potential students. The Program Coordinator must remain current on degree and certificate requirements.
\n\u2022 Produce general correspondence, memos, reports, mail merges, and other materials as required; maintain files for each program.
\n\u2022 Assist and refer telephone and walk-in inquiries, as appropriate.
\n\u2022 Special projects or additional duties as required by the Associate Directors.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2022 High school graduation or equivalent and two years of relevant work experience
\nEquivalent education\/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license\/certification\/registration.<\/b><\/p>\n

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
\n\u2022 Advanced working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Access, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, desktop publishing (InDesign, Photoshop), and website content management systems (e.gWordpress).
\n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
\n\u2022 Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and to independently prioritize work load
\n\u2022 Flexible schedule, to allow working occasional evenings and weekends to assist with SAS\/SEAS events<\/p>\n

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2022 B.A. or M.A. in International Studies, Communications, Business, or other relevant field\u00a0 Familiarity with the regions of the world that SAS and SEAS represent, including countries such as India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, East Timor, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
