Participants will travel to India to explore the topic Urban Sustainability. From AIIS and CAORC &#8211;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Across the globe, as towns grow into cities and as cities morph into megacities, what can be done to ensure that demands for quality economic opportunities and decent standards of living are balanced against increased pressures on the environment, energy resources, and threatened cultural traditions?<\/p>\n<p>This two-week-long overseas seminar will allow participating faculty to visit three rapidly changing Indian cities\u2014Bangalore, Jaipur, and Mysore\u2014to understand the varying economic, cultural, social, and environmental pressures confronting emerging cities. In addition to exploring the challenges and opportunities created by India\u2019s urban development, participants will gain firsthand experience of the country\u2019s fascinating history, society, and culture, while also engaging in productive partnerships and exchanges with local university faculty.<\/p>\n<p>The program is only open to faculty members at community colleges or<br \/>\nminority-serving institutions.
