Arctic Initiative

People

The Arctic Initiative includes the Senior Arctic Fellows who lead the initiative; Arctic Policy Senior Advisors who provide advising for the work of the fellows; Junior Arctic Fellows, graduate students engaged in Arctic research; and Undergraduate Arctic Scholars, undergraduate students training in policy-relevant work for the region. The Arctic Initiative team strives to bring new perspectives and fresh understandings of the world for the benefit of policy and decision-makers including going beyond the work of government agencies to understand how the Arctic Council, Indigenous Permanent Participants on the Council, and environmental organizations are influencing international relations. Importantly, the Arctic initiative works closely with regional and international stakeholders—an extended community of thinkers and practitioners with access to the work of the initiative and to a pool of new talent for internships or professional positions.
