Kathleen Lowney (UW, Comparative Religion, 1981)  was honored with the University System of Georgia’s teaching award in 2013 and also with the American Sociological Association’s Award for Distinguished Contributions to Teaching this year. Kathleen earned a PhD in Religion and Society from Drew University and has been teaching for 27 years at Valdosta State University
