Wegner Ghana childrenJonathan Wegner (MA 2016) writes: “This past September I flew to Kasoa, Ghana as a volunteer teaching for the NGO Cheerful Hearts Foundation. I was assigned to work with the Maranatha Preparatory Academy in Kasoa, teaching middle school students World Religions and Traditional Ghanaian Religions through the school’s Religious and Moral Education Program. The student-body was primarily of Christian but also Muslim religious background. Since my flight to Ghana was a connecting flight, I had the opportunity to spend a day in Istanbul. While there, I explored this ancient city’s historic sites, including the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.

Jonathan is currently finalizing his PhD applications to focus on the New Testament. “I hope to ultimately become a professor teaching religion, with a habit of teaching/speaking internationally when possible.”
