Christian Novetzke has been elected to the American Society for the Study of Religion (ASSR). He is Associate Professor of the South Asia Program, the Comparative Religion Program, and the International Studies Program at the Jackson School. Members of the ASSR are chosen on the basis of their contributions to the field, achievement and interest in the comparative study of religion, and their record of collegial engagement. His third book The Quotidian Revolution, an examination of 13th century Maharashtra and the creation of the public sphere in India, is scheduled to appear later this year.
