International Journal of Qualitative Methods (IJQM) is the peer-reviewed interdisciplinary open access journal of the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology (IIQM) at the University of Alberta, Canada. The journal, established in 2002, is an eclectic international forum for insights, innovations and advances in methods and study designs using qualitative or mixed methods research. The journal publishes methods papers and study protocols.

Contexts Magazine is a quarterly magazine that makes cutting-edge social research accessible to general readers. The magazine includes feature articles, culture and book reviews, and the latest social science research. It is a publication of the American Sociological Association.

Journal of Ethnographic & Qualitative Research is a quarterly, peer-reviewed periodical, publishing scholarly articles that address topics relating directly to empirical qualitative research and conceptual articles addressing topics related to qualitative research. The journal is available primarily in print or through ERIC and EBSCO.

Qualitative Inquiry provides an interdisciplinary forum for qualitative methodology and related issues in the human sciences. The journal publishes open-peer reviewed research articles that experiment with manuscript form and content, and focus on methodological issues raised by qualitative research rather than the content or results of the research. QI also addresses advances in specific methodological strategies or techniques.

Qualitative Research is a bimonthly peer reviewed journal that publishes original research and review articles on the methodological diversity and multi-disciplinary focus of qualitative research. This journal is available online.

Qualitative Sociology is dedicated to the qualitative interpretation and analysis of social life. The journal offers both theoretical and analytical research, and publishes manuscripts based on research methods such as interviewing, participant observation, ethnography, historical analysis, content analysis and others which do not rely primarily on numerical data. Qualitative Sociology Review publishes empirical, theoretical, and methodological articles applicable to all fields and specializations within sociology. Every submitted paper is blind reviewed and quality controlled by two reviewers. This journal is available online.
