Associate Professor Mary Callahan is quoted by The National on the possibility of Myanmar declaring a state of emergency in troubled Rakhine State.

After initial attacks by armed pro-Rohingya militants, and the subsequent crackdown on minority Rohingya Muslim population, more than 18,000 Rohingya have fled into Bangladesh.
