Helping Jackson School students transition from academic to professional life

In winter and spring 2022, over 100 Jackson School students gained new insights into their dream job, thanks to a new Alumni Career Event Series launched by the Jackson School’s Office of Career Services Director, Alice Kim.

During seven sessions, 34 Jackson School alum representing a wide array of industries volunteered their time to give first-hand insights into their chosen career pathways, from sharing skills they learned at the Jackson School that they use in their jobs to information about their respective industries.

Held in-person and online, the discussions centered on opportunities in tech, education, policy and government, and NGO and non-profits. The alumni represented bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from the Jackson School, from entry-level and mid-career roles to senior leadership.

In addition to the Alumni Career Event Series 2021-2022, in Spring 2022 over 20 Jackson School alumni visited the Jackson School Career Pathways class for undergrads and graduate students, to participate in career panels and help students practice their interviewing skills through conducting interview simulations.
