In this blog post “Does Hebrew have a Future in the Arab World?,” Jewish Studies alumna Shirin Lotfi explores the challenges faced by Hebrew language instructors in the Arab world following a first of its kind multi-country workshop in Amman, Jordan, last month, an event organized by the Center for Israel Studies in Jordan and the Washington D.C.-based Israel Institute.
Shirin Lotfi is a 2015 graduate of the University of Washington and a former member of the Jewish Studies Student Committee. An International Security and Political Science major at UW, she took Jewish Studies coursework and served on the Jackson School Peer Review for its quarterly journal.
