Magda Boutros is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology. Her research examines social movements contesting policing practices, through protest, advocacy, litigation, or direct action. She studied anti-harassment movements in Egypt, and her current project examines French activism against racialized policing, including by North African immigrants and their descendants. Her fields of expertise include Criminology, Law and Society, Qualitative Methods, Race and Ethnicity, Social Movements, and Sociology of Knowledge.
