Jere Bacharach is a Professor Emeritus at the Department of History at the University of Washington. He has previously served as the Chair of the Department of History at UW and is also the former director of the Jackson School of International Studies at UW. His overseas experience includes frequent extended research and study in Egypt. He taught selected courses in Modern Middle East History and Medieval Middle East History.
