Jere Bacharch, professor emeritus of History, gave a presentation on tourism in Egypt at the Jackson School’s annual Community College Master Teacher Institute, July 14-15, 2016. This year the institute focused on the subject of global tourism. Bacharach explored the position of tourism within Egypt’s economy and the impact of US dollars via USAID on funding of the restoration of important tourist monuments in Egypt.
Twenty-four instructors from area community colleges attended the institute this year, which is sponsored by the eight US Department of Education National Resource Centers at the Jackson School, the Global Business Center, Foster School of Business, University of Washington, the Institute for Regional Studies and International Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Northwest International Education Association.
