On Monday, January 28, 2019, Narges Bajoghli, Assistant Professor, Johns Hopkins University, presented a talk in the Voices in Middle East Studies series titled: “Anxieties of Power: The Revolutionary Guard, Generational Change, and Media in Iran.”  In this presentation the issues surrounding how a commitment to a revolutionary purpose is transmitted from one generation to the next while maintaining its vitality. Drawing upon her extensive field research in Iran, Professor Bajoghli, provided insights into the strategies Iranian state media uses and its awakening to the urgency and complexity of drawing younger generations to its message.
