Follow the journey of Majd Baniodeh (MAAIS, 2016) from our international crisis negotiation exercise to Starbucks’ refugee hiring initiative
The Master of Arts in Applied International Studies prepares you for today’s international affairs landscape. Hear the director of the Jackson School, Civic Council members, and MAAIS students talk about the benefits of this multidisciplinary program.
Our first cohort graduated in summer 2015. In this video, a few alumni share their experiences in the program and their plans for the future.
Each summer, the MAAIS program hosts the International Strategic Crisis Negotiation Exercise in collaboration with the U.S. Army War College. This exercise allows students to role-play strategic negotiations as members of diplomatic teams from various countries in a specific, real-world scenario. Teams are coached by UW faculty and other experts, and a senior government official is brought in to act as mediator.
