Applications are open and due Feb. 21, 2025 at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2025 Peter T. Johnson Fund for Latin American and Caribbean Studies<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/latinam\/opportunities\/the-peter-t-johnson-fund-for-latin-american-and-caribbean-studies\/\">The Peter T. Johnson Endowed Fund in Latin America and Caribbean Studies<\/a> was established Dec. 5, 2016 to provide broad-based direct financial support to undergraduate students affiliated with the University of Washington\u2019s Latin American and Caribbean Studies program in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies. Awards will range from $500 to $1,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate students registered at the University of Washington in any Latin America and Caribbean related courses, with priority given to LACS majors or minors<\/li>\n<li>The funds will be used to support costs related to study abroad, research travel, language study, or conference presentations related to Latin America and\/or the Caribbean<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application materials:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resume or CV<\/li>\n<li>Unofficial UW transcript<\/li>\n<li>Statement of purpose (500 words maximum)<\/li>\n<li>Name and contact information of one UW faculty reference<\/li>\n<li>Submit your application materials to: lasuw@uw.edu, subject line: [YOUR LAST NAME] &#8211; PTJ 2024<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>LACS Graduate Research Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Awards of up to $1,000 to support registered UW graduate students working in Latin America, the Caribbean, or with Latinx communities<\/li>\n<li>Awards can be used for conference travel (even if you are not presenting a paper), graduate research, language study, or any related activities<\/li>\n<li>Please submit a curriculum vitae and 250-word abstract detailing your project and how funds will be used.
