Jackson School Professor Emeritus\u00a0Don Hellmann<\/a>\u00a0believes that a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump is unlikely\u00a0to persuade Kim Jong Un give up nuclear weapons. In an interview with King 5 News<\/a>\u00a0he says that the meeting in fact advances Kim Jong Un’s strategy – that of legitimizing North Korea as an independent nuclear state.<\/p>\n

He also highlights how the Jackson School’s undergraduate Task Force program this year focused on the North Korean nuclear crisis, which included an evaluation of the research and policy recommendations by\u00a0Lt. General Stephen R. Lanza<\/a>.<\/p>\n
