The European Union in a Time of Turbulence and Uncertainties&#8221; on Nov. 20, 2019 at the University of Washington, Seattle.<br \/>\nThis talk is hosted by the UW Department of Scandinavian Studies and co-hosted by the Jackson School of International Studies, in celebration of 25 years of European Studies at the University of Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Jan Store has a comprehensive knowledge and experience of the European Union. He acted as Finland\u2019s permanent representative to the EU from 2008 to 2013, and deputy permanent representative from 1995 to 2000. Between these posts, he served as director general for European affairs in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki and Finland\u2019s ambassador to Poland from 2004 to 2008. Before that, Store was a member of the team negotiating Finland\u2019s membership of the EU.
