Travel to UW and Parking

Transportation:

Sea-Tac Airport

The University of Washington is located in the city of Seattle in America’s Pacific Northwest. Home to such major corporations as Amazon, Microsoft and Starbucks (as well as Boeing’s largest U.S. factories), Seattle is well served by the major Sea-Tac International Airport situated just south of the city. The airport is well connected to the University District by taxi, bus, light rail and airport shuttle services.

Airport to University District

For information on how to get to the University of Washington from the airport or downtown train station, please click here.

Seattle’s new Link Light Rail will take you directly from the airport to the UW Husky Stadium Light Rail Station. (A trip to the UW campus will cost $3.25 and take approximately 45 minutes.) However, please note that hotels are located about a mile from the UW Husky Stadium Light Rail Station. We recommend taking Uber or Lift from the UW Husky Stadium Light Rail Station to hotels. Alternatively, you may walk to hotels in the upper University District through campus.

Recommended for time/budget purposes especially for 2+ people traveling together: In addition to the options presented on the official UW transport page, you can also use rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft to travel from SeaTac Airport to UW or your hotel.

Parking

If you drive, please try to arrive to campus at least 45 minutes before your scheduled visit to allow time to park and find your way to your destination. When you arrive, please visit the Central Parking Garage to purchase a permit. The parking specialist will direct you to a parking lot. The Central Parking Garage is located here at the intersection of NE 41st Street and 15th Avenue NE.
