This consensus rested on Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) governing majorities, economic growth initiatives, expanded military capabilities, and strengthened international partnerships under U.S. leadership. Today, that foundation has grown increasingly unstable. He currently serves as founder and principal of Japan Foresight LLC and senior adviser for Japan at Aurora Macro Strategies. Photo by Madison Morgan<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attendees gathered for a reception following the program, continuing conversations sparked by Harris&#8217;s analysis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Way Lecture series, established in 2006, honors Griffith and Patricia Way, integral figures in the Japan Studies community. Griffith Way helped establish the University of Washington\u2019s Asian Law Program (now known as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.uw.edu\/academics\/programs\/alc\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Asian Law Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and provided support to the Center for Japanese Studies on numerous occasions.
