He was elected as one of two Turkish delegates to attend. Forty delegates from 20 countries gathered to discuss three topics: \u201cThe Future of Work\u201d, \u201cInternational Business\u201d, and \u201cBusiness and the Environment.\u201d Delegates wrote a report submitted to world leaders before the G20 Summit meeting last June. \u201cIt was a great experience for me to be in such a summit,\u201d says Kanan. Onur, along with other delegates held a meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the official residence.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Onur Kanan is a Researcher at TRT World and a Speaker Coordinator of the TRT World Forum. He holds a BA degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies from Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University, and an MA degree in Japan Studies from the University of Washington Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies. During his studies in the U.S., he received the Gorton Center Global Leaders Program Certificate from the Slade Gorton International Policy Center in the National Bureau of Asian Research in Seattle, Washington. He is fluent in Turkish, English and Japanese. His areas of expertise include the economic and foreign policy of Northeast Asia (Japan, China, South Korea, North Korea and Russia), the relations between the U.S. and Northeast Asia, and the relations between Turkey and this region with a special focus on Japan.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Onur Kanan (MA 2017) participated at the 2019 Y20 Summit, which is a youth summit of G20 countries, in Tokyo May 25 \u2013 30.
