Faculty Opportunities include grant and fellowships offered through a variety of sources aimed at enhancing individual research, program outreach and intellectual exchange specifically related to Japan.
The AAS Grants Program offers a variety of research grant opportunities related to research on China, Japan, Korea, and Northeast Asia specifically. Grants are for educational outreach, research, research travel, distinguished speaker engagements and are up to $2,000 or $5,000 depending on category. Must be AAS member to apply.
CGP provides funding for collaborative projects conducted by the people of the US, Japan and beyond on global issues, problems common to advanced industrial societies, and other issues that pertain to US-Japan relations.
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), or Gakushin for short, is an independent administrative institution, established by way of a national law for the purpose of contributing to the advancement of science in all fields of the natural and social sciences and the humanities.
TIFO strives to contribute to enhanced international understanding of japan by promoting cultural exchanges, including the organization and sponsorship of symposia and seminars. Grants are available for these and also research and human resource development projects.
