G\u00eara has worked as an activist in benefit of Indigenous causes since the 80s. She is one of the most notorious activists on Indigenous issues in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Her work focuses on the defense of the rights of Maxakali, Caxix\u00f3, Aran\u00e3 e Mocurin Indigneous peoples.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Ros\u00e2ngela<\/b> <b>Pereira de Tugny<\/b> is professor of music and musicology at the Federal University for the South of Bahia, Brazil. She is a researcher for the Brazilian Research Center (CNPq), where she studies the songs of the Amer\u00edndios Indigenous peoples, including sound documentation. She is the author of articles, books, and films on this subject.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4><b>Moderator:<\/b><\/h4>\n<div>\n<div><b>Dr. Jonathan Warren<\/b> is Professor in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies. His teaching specializations include Education, Race, Ethnicity, Nationalism, Cultural Studies, and Qualitative Research.
