The workshop will include <strong>lectures by experts<\/strong>, a <strong>catered lunch<\/strong>, and facilitation by <strong>World Affairs Council Global Classroom Program Director<\/strong>and High School Teacher <strong>Ryan Hauk<\/strong>.\u00a0The workshop also offers <strong>8 clock hours<\/strong>for full participation in the workshop. <strong>Parking is provided <\/strong>on the UW campus.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Registration fee: $35.00.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshop topics:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How Does the EU Actually Work and How Is It Changing in the Face of Russian Aggression in Ukraine \u2013 Dean LaRue<\/li>\n<li>What to Do About Russia? How Russians See Europe and Themselves in Historical and Contemporary Perspective<\/li>\n<li><span id=\"e-ct\">EU Economic and Energy Responses to Russia\u2019s Invasion of Ukraine<\/span> \u2013 Scott Montgomery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>2022 Workshop Agenda\u00a0coming soon.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>2022 Curriculum Resource Guide\u00a0coming soon.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Speaker information:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Ryan Hauck<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>\u2013 Workshop Facilitator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7763 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/jsis.washington.edu\/euwesteurope\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2022\/06\/Ryan-Hauck.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"202\" height=\"202\" \/>Ryan Hauck is the Director of the Global Classroom Program at the World Affairs Council in Seattle. In this role, Ryan supports students, teachers, and schools in their efforts to enhance global education. He also teaches AP Comparative Politics and Psychology at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish, WA, where he works to bring the world into his classroom. Ryan has a master\u2019s degree in Globalization and Educational Change from Lehigh University\u2019s Comparative and International Education Department. Ryan is passionate about engaging with other cultures and has worked on several projects in Nigeria over the past fifteen years. Most recently, Ryan participated in the U.S. Department\u2019s Fulbright Teachers for Global Classroom Program to Senegal (2016), Transatlantic Outreach Program (TOP) to Germany (2017), National Consortium for Teaching about Asia Program to Taiwan (2018), and Qatar Foundation Program to Jordan (2019). Ryan is a Washington State Council for the Social Studies Board Member and serves on the Arctic Initiative Leadership Team at the University of Washington.
