About IVEC and Virtual Exchange<\/h3>\n

IVEC is the largest and most prominent event on virtual exchange, providing a forum for an audience of instructors, administrators, instructional designers, and educational leaders from institutions around the world interested in technology, international education, and new pedagogies.<\/p>\n

Virtual exchange (also known as Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), Globally Networked Learning, or Telecollaboration) extends authentic opportunities for intercultural and transnational learning to students within K-16 classrooms, as well as through co-curricular activities. Through co-developed and co-taught modules, virtual exchange supports the development of 21st-century workforce skills and provides opportunities for applied learning experiences.<\/p>\n

About the conference<\/h3>\n

The third annual International Virtual Exchange Conference (IVEC)<\/strong><\/a>, held from October 27 – 29, 2021, is co-hosted by Drexel University and East Carolina University, in collaboration with the representative institutions on the IVEC Steering Committee: DePaul University, Durban Institute of Technology, FAUBAI Brazilian Association for International Education, SUNY COIL Center, UNICollaboration, Universidad de Monterrey, and University of Washington Bothell. It builds on a long history of successful COIL Conferences hosted by the SUNY COIL Center since 2007.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns and the resulting uncertainty surrounding budgets and international travel,\u00a0IVEC 2021 will be held completely online from 27-29 October 2021\u00a0<\/b>to ensure the international nature of the conference.<\/p>\n
